Care Trading Inc. is an ocean trade and commodities group working out of the Port of Newcastle. It buys, ships and sells through several operating businesses: agricultural goods, consumer products and paper for recycling, with joint ventures and investments alongside them. Its counterparties are wholesalers, shipping agents and buyers who already work in trade. The head office is small, so the website does a lot of the explaining.
The problem was the shape of the group: one company, several unrelated trades, and no obvious way for a visitor to tell which one they had landed on. So the navigation is built around the businesses. A dropdown names each one, a card for each sits on the home page, and every card has a page behind it. The home page states the group position once, and the rest of it belongs to the divisions.
An About page carries the group story and the portfolio of operating businesses, joint ventures and investments. A new counterparty asks about process, risk and continuity before a first shipment, and a strengths section covers those. Careers and contact sit on their own pages. The phone layout keeps the same order as the desktop one, so a buyer reading it on a wharf sees the divisions in the same sequence.
The site does not try to sell ocean freight to someone who does not already buy it. The job was to let a broker, a supplier or a job applicant find the right division and the right contact without making a phone call first.
